Paul Doucet

Security Director Intelligence

Location

United States

As a senior member of the Americas Regional Security Centre, Paul has not only expanded International SOS’ security footprint in Canada, leading on the securing of new business and delivery of high-quality consulting and training solutions for Canadian clients, but also supporting similar deliveries around the region, most notably in Mexico, and mentoring more junior members of the regional security platform.

Prior to that, Paul was the Regional Security Solutions Manager for the Asia-Pacific region, based in Singapore, from where he led that region’s security consulting, training and commercial engagements, directly managing service delivery and quality standards of security solutions across the region. This included taking the lead on multiple complex consulting deliveries, such as escalation and crisis management planning for American companies in North-East Asia, Natural Disaster capability studies in China, and a travel security information management and crisis management consulting project for the Macau government.

Before this, Paul spent three years in Dubai as the Regional Security Information Manager for Middle East and Eastern and Southern Africa, managing all security assessments and reporting for that region. In that role, Paul was a core member of the crisis management teams handling several major security escalations that led to mass evacuations, including from South Sudan, Libya, Iraq, Yemen and Turkey. Over the five years before he joined the team in Dubai, Paul worked in Singapore with Control Risks’ Global Risk Analysis department, and prior to that with the joint venture from its inception in 2008 in various analytical and editorial capacities. In those roles Paul authored and contributed to numerous in-depth analytical reports on topics and countries ranging from West Africa to East Asia to global cyber security threats.

Paul completed his master’s degree in International Political Economy at Singapore’s prestigious Rajaratnam School of International Studies, a bachelor of commerce degree from Saint Mary’s University in Halifax, and is completing his certification in risk management at the University of Toronto. He has travelled extensively on six continents, visited more than 80 countries, and spent 16 years living in Asia.
