International SOS recommends deferring any non-essential travel to New Caledonia (France) until further notice due to persistent unrest related to proposed electoral reforms. The authorities have extended a nightly curfew until at least 24 September as sporadic disturbances continue. Security Manager Alex Murray and Security Specialist, Assistance Forrest Botella recently travelled to the country. They say increased protests are expected across the territory on Citizenship Day on 24 September, which marks the day when New Caledonia became a French territory.
